| The company
started as Water, Environment & Geo Services Ltd.
(WEGS Consultants) in Uganda in 1997. In 2003 Water, Environment
and Geo Services Ltd became member of the WE Group. Offices
have since been opened in Mozambique, Rwanda and Kenya.
With accumulated years of experience in the water, environment
and engineering sector in East and Southern Africa, the
WE Group companies
can assure you an efficient and professional execution
of your project.
The company can build on a regional
presence of more than 8 years and has been able to build
up a large network of specialists in the water, environment
and construction sectors including social scientists,
environmentalists, hydrogeologists, engineers, architects
and planners. For our turnkey projects we work together
with contractors that are able to meet any Clients'
standard.

works with a variety of people. WE has carried out projects
for clients from the private sector, church organisations,
non-governmental organisations, government institutions,
international organisations and bilateral donors in Uganda,
Mozambique, Sudan, Somalia, Tanzania, Kenya and Rwanda.
Clients include: Wateraid, LWF, CARE, COOPI, CBM International,
UNHABITAT, UNDP, UNICEF, World Bank, ADB, AWF-IGCP, Ireland
Aid, DFID, DGIS, Austrian Aid, SIDA, DANIDA, Norconsult,
Kahama Mining, Uganda Wildlife Authority, Dioceses, Governments
(Ministry of Water, District Local Governments), DHV,

In
2007 WE Consult acquired a share in TGS Water Ltd. (www.tgswater.info).
This company specialises in the implementation of low
cost rural water point sources (shallow and deep boreholes
and protected springs)
WE
Consult, in collaboration with Mountbatten Ltd. (www.mountbatten.net),
has recently established UMapit Ltd (www.u-map.it).
The activities of the company are focussed on the interactive
generation of maps and dissemination of geographical
information collected by projects and generated by Umapit.
In 2004 WE Consult and Nieuwland
from the Netherlands decided to combine their expertise
in a collaboration agreement. Nieuwland is specialised
in offering consultancy, advice and application development
in geo-information, data communication, database design,
multimedia and Internet. The services offered by the
two companies meet the emerging demands of high level
GIS and database applications in eastern africa. Their
activities will accelerate the development of local
expertise in the region (www.nieuwland.nl).
In 2003, Water Environment and
Geo Services as part of the WE Group, and Krogsgaard
Bio System ApS from Denmark started a partnership with
the aim of setting up a local company specialised in
environmental technologies in general and in constructed
wetlands for waste water treatment in particular. The
partnership was supported by DANIDA. The resulting new
company is called Eco Engineering Ltd.
In 2003 the WE Group and GeoQuest
Ltd. in Lusaka, Zambia concluded a formal partnership.
GeoQuest is a Zambian based company offering services
to the mining industry and water development sector
(www.geoquest.co.zm).
