Narrative
description of project:
|
|
WE Consult was requested by Wateraid
to carry out a baseline survey in Sanga District. As
a pilot project it will serve as an example of the use
of GIS applications for planning purposes. The fieldwork
was coordinated together with the Ministry of Public
Work and Housing, NGO’s (Estamos and Proagra) and Wateraid.
A
database was established in Access and Excel spreadsheet
format by carefully merging and matching information
from a number of data sources: the National Institute
for Statistics, DPOPH, the field data and the relevant
topographical map sheets, The database was converted
in ArcView, and the relevant data were converted into
various thematic layers.
