Narrative description of project:

WE Consult was requested by Wateraid to carry out baseline surveys in two districts together with Wateraid and Public Works Zambezia. WE Consult gave training and technical advice for the data collection. Currently, the government counterpart is collecting the data. WE Consult carries out the data verification and data entry. An database in access is being set-up. Further analyses will be done with Excel and the Geographical Information System, Arcview.

The output is anticipated to supply reliable data on the actual coverage of the population and will be useful as a planning tool for the future projects in both districts. Additional data gathered on schools will assist the educational department in assessing the needs of the districts. 

Description of services provided by your staff:

• Co-ordination and verification of all available data on safe water sources
• Data entry, verification and validation
• Preparation of coverage maps of Namacurra and Namarroi Districts in ArcView format
• Preparation of final report, describing approach, analysis and conclusions of the exercise.
