Narrative
description of project:

|
WE Consult
was requested to supply services regarding a baseline
survey and the facilitation of sub-project implementation
in Nampula province as part of the integrated water
supply and sanitation project for Niassa and Nampula
provinces.
The work
commenced with a comprehensive and detailed baseline
survey on water supply and sanitation gathered through
participative rural assessment. The local NGO AMASI
was sub contracted to execute the field work. Training
was given to the counterpart of ASNANI. The data was
collected in the stipulated 5 weeks.
Currently
the data is being analyzed and a comprehensive and tailor
made GIS package and Access database is being designed.
The
analysis of the data will be guided by the principle
that it should assist the Client in making an informed
and objective decision for the selection of the 20 communities
with the highest priority for the implementation of
water & sanitation services. These 20 communities
will be guided through this process, which will include:
- Create
awareness regarding the policy, process, responsibilities
and technical options available to them;
- Mobilise
and Capacitate Community Structures
- Planning
of appropriate and sustainable water and / or sanitation
services
- Implementation
of the approved services
