Narrative
description of project:
|
|
The Water
and Environmental Sanitation Programme, within the Rural
Districts Programme, targets to supply safe water to
the rural people through gravity flow technology. The
objective of the project was the development of project
documents to be used for the implementation of four
gravity flow schemes. Topographic surveys were done, used as input for the
hydraulic designs of the schemes. Socio-economic information
was collected as a basis for the proposals for software
activity plans. Tender documents, technical specifications,
Bills of Quantities and drawings were developed, and
Project proposals were developed presenting the findings,
meant to guide the implementer and supervisor in constructing
the gravity flow schemes.

Description of services provided by your staff:

- Establishment
of topographic profile along gravity flow scheme line;
- Development
of hydraulic design, taking the technical criteria
and cost effectiveness into consideration;
- Execution
of baseline survey to obtain data on water, sanitation,
diseases, hygiene practices etc.;
- Preparation
of BOQ and costing of the scheme;
- Preparation
of materials requirement list;
- Preparation
of tender documents for construction of the scheme
and software;
- Preparation
and production of comprehensive project document.
