description of project:

|
WE Consult as sub consultant to DHV Water B.V.
was asked to carry out a verification of water resources
for Hoima, Mubende and Masindi towns based on the appraisal
studies carried out by GITEC and Alexander Gibb &
Partners, within the framework of the detailed design
and supervision of construction works for the water
supply and sanitation of these towns. This task included
the assessment of the safe discharge of potential water
sources of the three towns.

Description
of services provided by your staff:
|
- Collection
and analysis of all available relevant information,
including stream flow data and rating curves, rainfall
and evaporation data, and borehole data
- Field
reconnaissance surveys and on-the-spot stream flow
measurements of all potential surface water sources
of the three towns
- Statistical
analyses of relevant stream flow records, including
one-in-twenty years three day low flows, and 95 %
probability low flows of two reference gauging stations,
and where applicable extrapolation to other measuring
locations
- Water
balance calculations of several wetland systems
- Verification
of groundwater potential of the three towns
- Presentation
of results and writing of extensive report
